  Kindergarten Connection

Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa

                                                        Last Week

Your child's folder came home Friday with the February Leader calendar in the back pocket. The February Homework calendar came home too. You may send back the January calendars at any time next week for a trip to the treasure chest and Book-it Pizza Hut certificates.

Much fun was had with the return of snow to our world. Just a reminder that snow pants and boots must be worn in order to go onto the playground. If not, the children remain on the blacktop area to stay dry. It is very important that your child brings a pair of shoes to change into while inside. You are welcomed and encouraged to leave a pair of shoes at school. Wet boots on our rug make it difficult for us to keep it dry for sitting on during group time.

Snack and Leaders

Your child will come home with the Leader bag the night before his/her leader day. There is a notebook inside with directions for sharing both a snack with the class and a Show and Tell item. Please refer to the calendar in the back of your child's take home folder for leader and other important dates.

Due to allergies, please refrain from sending snacks that contain any kind of nut. Thank you!

We will snack in the morning each day. It is not necessary for you to send a snack with your child, as the leader provides it each day.  Thank you for sending a leak-proof water bottle with your child each day.

Next Week

Our Positivity Project trait is Kindness. You say and do nice things. You help others.

On Wednesday we get to see the 4th grade program in the morning. It is so fun to see siblings or friends we know perform.

You will receive important information regarding Valentines and the 100th day projects this Friday. I have found that these tend to get lost in the shuffle if I send them too far in advance.

As far as valentines go, you will be given a sheet with each of our classmates' names and numbers in boxes. Your child is to cut out all the names and tape or glue one on each valentine to be distributed during our party. Your child will only need to sign his/her name to the valentines they wish to give to classmates. It is a great matching activity as each child will have made a Valentine Bag at school with the same name and number box. If you have any questions once you get the sheet, please let me know.
