  Kindergarten Connection

Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa

                         Last Week

Yesterday your child came home with a new set of Sight Words and the book, Baby Animals. Please add the words to your child's sight word bag and the book to your designated spot for books your child can read. We practice the current sight words daily, but this is not enough for your child to know them well. Please go through them daily.

Reading to and with your child daily is extremely important for so many reasons. Please prioritize this time.

You will never regret the time with your child nor realize the impact it has had on his/her development

and love for reading (I know, I sound like a broken record. Sorry, it is my soapbox 😊).

Snack and Leaders

Your child will come home with the Leader bag the night before his/her leader day. There is a notebook inside with directions for sharing both a snack with the class and a Show and Tell item. Please refer to the calendar in the back of your child's take home folder for leader and other important dates.

Due to allergies, please refrain from sending snacks that contain any kind of nut. Thank you!

We will snack in the morning each day. It is not necessary for you to send a snack with your child, as the leader provides it each day.  Thank you for sending a leak-proof water bottle with your child each day.

Next Week

P2 Character Strength-Integrity-2-You are honest and speak the truth.

On Wednesday, 12/14, the Holiday Club is having a Bake Sale during the lunchtimes. Items range from 50 cents to $2. The proceeds are 100% donated to families in need.

Wednesday is an extremely busy day! We also get to be part of the audience for the 3rd graders' Nutcracker performance. It is fun to watch and think of which part we might like to play when we are in 3rd grade. Be sure to ask your child about this.

On Wednesday, December 14th we will make Gingerbread houses! If you are able, please send your assigned

item by Monday, Dec. 12th (so I can supplement if necessary). I am still in need of 2 parents to help on this day. We will

begin at 1:15 (for set up) until 2:30 ish that afternoon. Please let me know if you are able to join us Wednesday.

Please send a leak-proof water bottle to school with your child each day.

Upcoming Events

Thursday, December 22nd we will have our Winter/Holiday Party. This party will be in the afternoon instead of morning

as stated in last weeks' blog. If you are assigned to that committee, you will be contacted soon 😊.

Our Holiday break is 12/23-1/8. Enjoy your time together!!
